The Dragon in Cleethorpes

by Ashley Smith

I went out in my back garden where I saw what looked like a garden gnome. As I walked closer it grew, by the time I was next to it, it was about 15cm bigger. By now I was cautious to touch it, so I went inside. I opened the door and I felt a cool, refreshing, rush of air flow through the door. I made my way inside, the window was open so I peered outside, because it was a frosted window. I noticed the gnome was gone. I decided I was hungry, so I rushed to the kitchen. I flung the cereal cupboard open and this Huge! Erm slimey, grimey green thing was sat in my cupboard. All I could see was its body and its lamp-like eyes, lighting up the cupboard. "Oh not now." I said because I was desperately hungry, and a dragon! Yes a dragon had eaten all of my food. Then, it suddenly clicked, I was alone... with a dragon, I just screamed and ran out the door, and looked it so it couldnt escape. I was going to ring the local museum... but I was so hungry and out of the corner of my eye I saw a chippy. What?... It was empty, everyone was scurrying around. I asked one what was going on. He said " A D-D-Dragon." So I guessed people had already seen the cereal snatching beast of Cleethorpes. I was three quarters of the way home when it swooped down in front of me, and grunted, as if saying something. I could just make out "Thanks for breakfast. I'll be back for a cooked dinner!", thats what I thought it said. He blew a puff of smoke from his nose, then flew over the broad horizon. Erm, and I hope your not going to be his dinner. Thats the last I want to see of him. You were warned!!!
